TEAM ELITE U-DIMM DDR3 4GB 1600MHZ DESKTOP RAM Review
I have 4 RAM slots on my motherboard with 2x4GB memory chips installed from way back in 2012. I upgraded to the 2x8GB chips from TEAM Group and they work fine in combination with the older chips. I made sure to put the different RAM on separate channels, so they are arranged as 8-4-8-4. Not an issue using the different size and brand, as long as they are the same speed and voltage.
Saved me a lot of money over buying another brand. Now, my only issue is Photoshop has gone mad-crazy with RAM gobbling and ate it all up and is chomping at the bit to eat more. It’s like the Cookie Monster on steroids, that Photoshop. Never satisfied. I feel like I could have 128GB and Photoshop would still complain about being starved for RAM.
I was shocked to see by the sticker that this item was a restock; I thought that I was buying a new item, but that’s not the worst of it. The manufacturer actually forgot to solder DRAM chips on one of the modules ENTIRELY, and the other module was missing a chip. More incredibly, this piece made it past the eyes of several people who could have inspected it before it got to the first person who returned it and yet somehow it ended up getting resold to me? How many more times is this item going to be resold before someone realizes it’s totally defective and must be recycled? Y’all got too many stupid people working for you. In a way, I’m glad I’m no longer one of them.
Anyway, yeah, I got a refund, and hopefully this item is going to meet its fate.
